“Urban Bloom” collection is designed by P V Naga Impana, Chalsi K J, and Firdous Fathima, students from Diploma in Fashion Design at JD Institute of Fashion Technology, Bengaluru and winners of “Best Fashion Forward Collection” Award, celebrates this harmonious coexistence of nature’s beauty and urban sophistication. Despite the bustle of urban life, nature often finds a way to remind us of its quiet resilience.
Urban Bloom draws inspiration from lush, flourishing cityscapes. The collection embodies the idea of “live in the moment,” which exhorts us to take a moment to notice the beauty that is frequently ignored in our surroundings.
Each design in the collection speaks of balance and change. Echoing the sharp lines of urban life, the structured silhouettes flow in with the fluidity of nature, seen in the organic patterns and flowing forms. The texture mimics the layered cityscapes—sharp, dynamic combinations through tailoring and draping.
Shades of green, floral pastels, blue, off-white and grey have created a soothing palette. Fabrics that include cotton twills, organza and tulle net create a contrast between strength and softness.
The message behind Urban Bloom reminds us that the beautiful is an unexpected unification of contrasts. This invites us to love ourselves as different individuals, still not detached from this world. Here, this clothing collection could be the language of mindfulness—to express harmony between nature and urbanity that makes life even richer.
