The project is designed for individuals seeking meditation, healing, and spiritual retreat experiences, keeping sensory calmness, emotional connection, and inward reflection at the core of the design process. Conceived as a spiritual retreat and experiential wellness space, the project creates a sequence of immersive environments where movement through the architecture becomes a gradual journey away from external distractions toward inner awareness. The design approach focuses on sensory experience, material authenticity, spatial transitions, and the emotional impact of light, ensuring that the outcome is both immersive and meaningful.
Through research into the reflective qualities of Lippan craft and the psychological effects of light and silence within spatial environments, the project identifies the need for architecture that supports emotional stillness and mindful engagement. Materials such as textured mud surfaces, mirror inlays, natural finishes, and handcrafted elements, along with techniques including controlled apertures, perforated surfaces, transitional corridors, and light-responsive spatial planning, were chosen to achieve an atmosphere of calmness, softness, and reflection.Visually, the project is defined by textured relief surfaces, shifting light patterns, earthy material palettes, and contemplative voids that reflect the evolving relationship between light, shadow, and movement. The final outcome, a spiritual retreat with meditation halls, sound bath zones, salt therapy spaces, and the central Nakshatra Van courtyard, embodies stillness, awareness, and emotional healing while seeking to create an immersive sensory experience rooted in introspection.Through this project, the designer aims to highlight how traditional craftsmanship can shape contemporary experiential spaces, positioning design as a tool for mindfulness, emotional well-being, and cultural continuity. Ultimately, “The Quiet Radiance” stands as a reflection of silence illuminated through craft, where architecture becomes a medium for awareness, contemplation, and inner transformation.
