The project is designed for contemporary consumers, craft enthusiasts, luxury shoppers, and culturally aware audiences who value authenticity, personalization, and handcrafted products. Their need for immersive experiences and emotional connection forms the foundation of the design process. The design approach focuses on user engagement, functionality, craftsmanship, and experiential storytelling, ensuring that the outcome is both practical and memorable. Through research into Mojari craftsmanship, retail psychology, and experiential store design, the project identifies the need for retail spaces that move beyond product display and actively involve users in the making process. Materials such as leather, wood, textured fabrics,
metal accents, and warm natural finishes were chosen to achieve tactile richness, durability, and a sense of luxury. Techniques including layered detailing, visible joinery, hand-stitched patterns, and modular spatial planning were used to translate the essence of Mojari construction into the interiors.Visually, the project is defined by earthy tones, warm lighting, tactile textures, and stitched detailing that reflect the authenticity and artistry of handcrafted footwear. The final outcome, a high-end retail store combined with a live experience centre, embodies cultural storytelling, interaction, and personalization, seeking to create a deeper appreciation for traditional craftsmanship within a contemporary retail setting.Through this project, the designer aims to highlight the relevance of preserving and evolving traditional crafts through modern retail experiences, positioning design as a tool for cultural connection, innovation, and responsible consumption. Ultimately, “The Crafted Sole” stands as a reflection of how heritage craftsmanship can be transformed into an immersive luxury experience, where retail becomes not just a place of purchase, but a journey through process, skill, and human connection.
