The collection explores the colours, textures, and symbolism associated with these gemstones, creating garments that embody emotions such as love, harmony, serenity, confidence, and positivity. Traditional techniques including Chikankari, Tambour embroidery, Appliqué work, and Ombré dyeing are thoughtfully combined to recreate the layered formations, luminous surfaces, and intricate patterns found in natural crystals. Chikankari reflects the subtle inner beauty of gemstones, Tambour embroidery captures their sparkle and dimension, while Appliqué represents their organic growth and layered structures. The silhouettes balance structure and fluidity through sculpted corsets paired with flowing organza capes and layered couture elements. This contrast mirrors the strength and geometry of crystal formations alongside their soft, radiant energy. Designed as coordinated mother–daughter ensembles, the collection celebrates connection, inheritance, and timeless elegance.
One of the key challenges was translating crystal textures into handcrafted surface ornamentation while maintaining harmony between multiple embroidery techniques. Coordinating design execution, garment construction, material sourcing, and budget management required extensive experimentation and collaboration throughout the development process. The collection features a delicate pastel palette inspired by the selected gemstones, including blush pink, lavender, soft yellow, sage green, and misty blue. Fabrics such as ombré-dyed Chikankari textiles, organza, net, and Tambour-embellished materials were chosen to enhance the collection’s dreamy and ethereal quality.Through “Ratna Leher,” the designer successfully combines nature, emotion, and heritage craftsmanship into a refined couture collection. By transforming the beauty and symbolism of crystals into wearable art, the collection presents a poetic interpretation of femininity, family bonds, and traditional Indian handcrafts through a contemporary fashion lens.
