Rules and regulations

  1. Participation is compulsory in the JD Design Awards to be eligible for the diploma certificates to be awarded. 
  2. A minimum of 75% attendance is required for participating in the JD Design Awards.
  3. All the Diploma final year students are to work individually or in groups for the project.  
  4. Fashion Diploma Students (1-year) are to group up in 1s, 2s, or 3s and create 10 ensembles of any category.  
  5. If the internal mentors are not satisfied with the outcome of the students’ work, then the individual may be asked to resubmit the work at the earliest dates provided by the mentors during the presentations to avoid disqualification.
  6. Individuals are not expected to discuss their theme or concepts under development with other students/groups.
  7. The internal jury’s decision to allow an individual into the external jury will be final. The decision can only be contested by giving an application to the internal jury members citing the reason as to why the collection/project should be allowed to appear in front of the external jury and what prescribed changes has the individual made in the collection taking cue from the internal jury.
  8. Student designers are expected to present an estimate of each ensemble once the design is finalized for approval. The designers are expected to execute the ensemble within the estimate. Failing to do so will result in the disqualification of the designers.
  9. Students are expected to maintain the timelines given to avoid disqualification.
  10. Students are expected to maintain a visual diary/research journal pertaining to the concept they are working for the JD Design Awards and produce the same at the request of any of the mentors.
  11. Students are given a choice of creating a video of 1 minute of the entire process, which carries a credit to be added to jury marks and also the video will be played on the day of the show/exhibition. 
  12. College holds no responsibility with the external vendors that the students engage with during the process of design execution.
  13. Any changes prescribed by the external jury will have to be executed before the test fits.
  14. The decision of the JD internal/External jury and senior management prior to the Design Awards will be final and binding.
  15. If a designer is disqualified from the design awards event at any stage, to obtain a certificate of the course the students will have to complete the project and get it certified by the mentor.
