The project is designed for modern retail consumers seeking comfort, accessibility, and meaningful shopping experiences, keeping their movement, interaction, and visual engagement at the centre of the design process. The design approach focuses on fluidity, sustainability, functionality, and visual continuity, ensuring that the retail environment feels inviting, seamless, and brand-oriented. Through research into Bent Wood craftsmanship and sustainable retail materials, the project identifies the importance of integrating natural forms and environmentally responsible practices into contemporary commercial interiors. Materials such as bent wood, NWFC panels, natural wood finishes, and eco-friendly surfaces, along with techniques including curved shelving systems, sculptural partitions, and flowing ceiling installations, were chosen to create a cohesive and dynamic retail experience.
Visually, the project is defined by soft curves, natural wood textures, neutral tones, and warm lighting that reflect Fab India’s earthy and handcrafted brand identity. The final outcome, a sustainable retail environment, embodies fluidity, comfort, and craftsmanship while encouraging customers to experience the store as both a functional shopping space and an immersive design experience.Through this project, the designer aims to highlight the role of sustainable materials and traditional craftsmanship within contemporary retail design, positioning interiors as a tool for environmental responsibility, user engagement, and brand storytelling. Ultimately, “The Curved Living” stands as a reflection of harmony between craft and modern retail, where organic forms and sustainable thinking shape a meaningful spatial experience.
