The project is designed for couples seeking emotional healing, therapy, and guidance, keeping privacy, emotional comfort, and psychological well-being at the core of the design process. Conceived as a therapeutic counselling space, the project creates an atmosphere that encourages trust, openness, and emotional restoration through calming and restorative interiors. The design approach focuses on emotional sensitivity, spatial comfort, privacy, and symbolic materiality, ensuring that the outcome is both functional and meaningful. Through research into therapeutic environments, emotional healing processes, and the psychological impact of interior spaces,
the project identifies the need for counselling environments that move beyond clinical settings to create warmth and emotional security. Materials such as terrazzo, natural finishes, soft textures, and muted tones, along with techniques including layered spatial zoning, tactile surfaces, and calming lighting strategies, were chosen to achieve a soothing and emotionally balanced environment.Visually,
the project is defined by soft textures, warm neutral palettes, curved forms, and terrazzo surfaces that symbolise healing through reconstruction. The final outcome, a couple counselling and emotional healing centre, embodies resilience, comfort, and emotional renewal while seeking to create a sense of belonging and reassurance for its users.Through this project, the designer aims to highlight how traditional craftsmanship and material symbolism can contribute to emotional well-being, positioning design as a tool for empathy, healing, and human connection. Ultimately, “The Terrazzo Mindspace” stands as a reflection of restoration through togetherness, where fragmented experiences are thoughtfully brought back together into spaces of hope, understanding, and emotional strength.
